Dr. Günther Beckstein receives Honorary Medal of FAU WiSo

At the FAU WiSo Honors Night on November 14, 2024 in the Historic Town Hall in Nuremberg, Dr. Günther Beckstein, former Bavarian Minister-President, was awarded the Medal of Honour of the School of Business, Economics and Society (FAU WiSo). The laudatory speech was held by Marcus König, Mayor of the City of Nuremberg.

As a representative of the Schöller Foundations, Dr Beckstein made a significant contribution to the implementation of the extensive funding measures of the Schöller-Foundations at the School. Since the Schöller Research Center was founded in 2010, Dr. Beckstein has been an active member of its Advisory Board.

Evangelia Demerouti and Katharina Ebner publish paper in Human Resource Management

Schöller Senior Fellow Prof. Dr. Evangelia Demerouti and Schöller Fellow Katharina Ebner (with C. Roth, R. Soucek and K. Moser) published an article in Human Resource Management (A).

In their paper “Toward a Better Understanding of Self‐Regulation Promoting Interventions: When Performance Management and Job Crafting Meet”, the authors conducted a field experiment to examine the effects of two self-regulation promoting interventions – the Productivity Measurement and Enhancement Systems intervention (ProMES), a job crafting intervention, and their combination – on individual employee performance and innovation through selected process variables.

The findings suggest that while self-regulation promoting interventions increase favorable outcomes through different mechanisms their combination may unexpectedly impair relevant processes and, more generally, overwhelm employees.
